  Situated on the border of Queensland and New South Wales, only a few kilometres driver from the Gold Coast International Airport is the Kirra Beach Tourist Park which offers lodges, villas and camp/caravan sites but is a bit pricey for what is on offer. The lodges have to share a communal bathroom in which there is only one toilet/shower which means toilets are often not available when you need them. The location offers a swimming pool which appears to be well maintained. The cleanliness of the toilets and bathrooms is great as they are cleaned quite well each day by a cleaner that does the rounds around the park. There is a little shop here situated at the entrance/check-in area, however, this too is pretty pricey. The park also offers a games room and children's outdoor play area which seems to be very popular with the kids that were at the park.

  Surrounding the Kirra Beach Tourist Park is some of South East Queensland's best beaches and fishing locations and only a few kilometres away there is The Strand Shopping Centre. Public transport is also available and is only a few hundred metres away which can take you in either direction north to the Gold Coast or south to Tweed Heads. At the back of this tourist park is a creek which provides a some spectacular sunsets, there is also fish (what I'm assuming is bream) in this creek which leaps out of the water quite often.

  Nice park, close to great beaches and shopping areas, amenities are acceptable, not new but kept clean and the cleaning crew keep to the timetable, very well. 2 sets of amenities, not too far apart, so when one is being cleaned, the other is available.

  Now for the few negatives, as mentioned earlier this place is pretty pricey for what it offers, there was no outside lighting around the lodges making walking to and from the lodges pretty dangerous with tripping a big possibility. In the lodge I stayed in there was a smoke detector that would beep all night every two to three nights but when I reported this nothing was done.

  Great facilities and staff. Location is very close to Highway and Airport - not a very relaxing environment. Quick walk to beach and short drive to Coolongata and all its cafes. Not really my cup of tea but I can see how this could be a convenient and comfortable location for those who don't mind a bit of noise.
